What each one is
Tesla Solar
Tesla Energy sells solar panels, the Tesla Solar Roof and the Powerwall home battery, directly and through certified installers. Its products are well known, and many homeowners start their solar search with Tesla’s name.
SolarAmerica
A residential solar company ranked #1 by Solar Power World and listed on the Inc. 5000, with more than 20,000 completed installations. We design systems and manage projects from permits to permission to operate; licensed partner contractors in your area perform the installation. We offer $0-down power purchase agreements and purchases, and we publish utility rates with the date they were published.
The difference that matters for your home
A brand name does not decide whether solar pays off on your roof. What does: how the deal is structured, who installs it, the rate your savings are measured against, and who you call after installation. SolarAmerica builds every proposal from your own 12 months of usage and your utility’s all-in rate, and offers $0 down, with no loan and no lien on your home.
Comparing them side by side
| Question to ask | How SolarAmerica answers |
|---|---|
| Can I go solar with $0 down? | Yes. A power purchase agreement: no upfront cost, no loan, no lien. You pay only for the power produced. |
| Can I own the system instead? | Yes. Purchase options are available and shown side by side in your proposal. |
| Who installs it? | Licensed partner installers in your area, with SolarAmerica managing the project end to end. |
| What are the savings measured against? | Your own bill and your utility’s published all-in rate, never a national average. |
| Who handles permits and the utility? | We do: permits, inspections and the interconnection application. |
| Can I add a home battery? | Yes. Solar and storage can be designed together for outage backup. |

The residential federal tax credit (25D) ended for property placed in service after December 31, 2025.
You will still see ads promising a 30% credit that “ends December 31.” Read the date on them. If you buy a system today as a homeowner, you cannot claim that credit. What remains under 48E applies to the owner of the system — which, under a PPA, is us. SolarAmerica does not provide tax advice; talk to your tax professional about your situation.

Questions
The things people actually ask
Is SolarAmerica or Tesla Solar better?
The better choice is the one whose proposal fits your home: the ownership structure, who installs, the rate your savings are measured against, and the support after installation. SolarAmerica offers $0-down power purchase agreements and purchases, installed by licensed local partners.
Does SolarAmerica offer $0-down solar?
Yes. SolarAmerica offers a $0-down power purchase agreement, with no upfront cost, no loan and no lien on your home.
Can I add a home battery with SolarAmerica?
Yes. Solar and battery storage can be designed together so your home keeps running during an outage.
What should I compare first?
The ownership structure, then the rate your savings are measured against, then who installs and services the system. Panel brand matters far less than those three.
