SolarAmerica is not the contractor on your roof
We design the system, run the project and hold the agreement. The physical installation is performed by a licensed engineering, procurement and construction partner operating in your state. This is a common structure in residential solar and there is no good reason to be coy about it.
Why the model exists
Local crews know local permitting offices, local inspectors and local utility interconnection queues. A national crew parachuted into an unfamiliar jurisdiction is slower and makes more mistakes. Keeping design and project management central while installation stays local is the trade being made.
What we require of a partner
A current contractor license in the state of work, insurance in force, and workmanship accountability for roof penetrations. Partners that do not maintain those do not stay on the list.
What you should ask before anything is scheduled
Ask for the installing contractor's legal name and license number, and look it up with your state board. Ask who honours the workmanship warranty on roof penetrations and for how long. Ask who you call if a panel stops reporting in year six. Under a power purchase agreement the system owner carries maintenance for the term; under a purchase, that answer is different and you want it in writing.

Will I know who is coming to my roof?
Yes, before anything is scheduled. Ask for the license number as well and check it with your state board.
Who is responsible if the roof leaks?
Workmanship on roof penetrations sits with the installing contractor. Get the term of that warranty in writing before you sign.
